Hiện nay, có rất nhiều phương pháp để điều trị căn bệnh thoái hóa cột sống như là các bài thuốc dân gian cho đến điều trị bằng vật lý trị liệu. Vậy thì đâu mới là phương pháp điều trị thoái hóa cột sống một cách an toàn và hiệu quả nhất? Đây cũng là câu hỏi không chỉ người cao tuổi mà cả thế hệ trẻ cũng đang rất quan tâm.
1. Dùng phương pháp dân gian để chữa thoái hóa cột sống
Từ thời xa xưa, ông bà ta đã truyền đạt lại cho thế hệ sau nhiều phương pháp dân gian để chữa thoái hóa cột sống bằng cách sử dụng các nguyên liệu tự nhiên. Trong số đó, nổi bật nhất là 4 bài thuốc sau đây”
– Dùng lá ngải cứu: Rửa sạch lá ngải cứu rồi sau đó đem xay nhuyễn lấy nước cốt, cho vào thêm 1 muỗng mật ong và dùng để uống hằng ngày.
– Dùng lá lốt: Rửa sạch lá lốt rồi đem đun sôi rồi lọc lấy nước uống mỗi ngày.
– Dùng cỏ xước: Cỏ xước rửa sạch, đem phơi khô rồi cho vào túi vải để đun sôi. Sau khi nước sôi thì chắt lấy nước dùng uống mỗi ngày.
– Dùng xương rồng: Nhổ sạch gai xương rồng rồi rửa sạch, tiếp theo nướng đều 2 mặt. Sau đó lấy xương rồng đắp lên chỗ đau nhức.
2. Sử dụng thuốc là phương pháp phổ biến nhưng nhiều tác dụng phụ
Thông thường, phương pháp đầu tiên mà đa số người bệnh tìm đến là sử dụng thuốc giảm đau hoặc một số loại thuốc khác. Những loại thuốc này có thể giảm đau nhanh chóng nhưng sẽ không điều trị dứt điểm được căn bệnh. Ngược lại, nếu như lạm dụng quá nhiều thuốc trong một thời gian dài thì cơ thể bị lệ thuộc vào thuốc, có nghĩa là khi ngưng sử dụng thuốc vì cơn đau sẽ lại kéo đến. Trường hợp xấu khác đó là bệnh nhân bị lờn thuốc, thuốc sẽ không còn tác dụng nữa khiến cho triệu chứng trở nên khó lường và tần suất cơn đau xuất hiện cũng ngày một tăng lên. Bên cạnh đó, thì việc phải sử dụng quá nhiều thuốc còn gây ra nhiều biến chứng khác ảnh hưởng đến sức khỏe như viêm loét dạ dày, suy giảm chức năng tim, gan, thận, đột quỵ,…
3. Chữa đau bằng phương pháp Đông Y châm cứu
Châm cứu là một phương pháp chữa trị Đông Y đã có từ rất lâu đời, các bác sĩ sẽ dùng kim châm vào các huyệt đạo trên cơ thể với những độ sâu khác nhau. Phương pháp này làm kích thích hệ thống kinh mạch, huyệt đạo qua đó giúp giảm các cơn đau do thoái hóa cột sống gây ra.
Mặc dù vậy, không phải ai cũng có thể sử dụng được phương pháp châm cứu nếu như người bị mắc bệnh mãn tính về da liễu, phụ nữ đang mang thai hoặc có nguy cơ nhiễm trùng. Thế nên, bệnh nhân cần phải đến gặp bác sĩ để được khám chẩn đoán và tư vấn trước khi sử dụng phương pháp châm cứu. Ngoài ra, châm cứu chỉ có thể giúp bệnh nhân điều trị các triệu chứng đau ở phần ngọn chứ không thể điều trị phần gốc rễ cơn đau do sự chèn ép của các dây thần kinh đối với các bệnh lý về xương sống.
4. Cân nhắc kỹ khi chữa thoái hóa cột sống bằng phương pháp phẫu thuật.
Phương pháp phẫu thuật dường như là sự lựa chọn cuối cùng khi những phương pháp khác không cho hiệu quả điều trị. Khi thực hiện phẫu thuật cần có sự theo dõi và thực hiện bởi những bác sĩ giàu kinh nghiệm cùng với thiết bị máy móc hiện đại để đảm bảo cuộc phẫu thuật thành công.
Sau khi phẫu thuật người bệnh sẽ phục hồi được chức năng vận động và giảm đau nhức xương khớp. Tuy nhiên rủi ro sau phẫu thuật là hoàn toàn có thể xảy ra, chẳng hạn như cơn đau tái phát, nhiễm trùng vết thương hay mất nhiều thời gian hồi phục. Trường hợp tệ nhất là nếu như quá trình phẫu thuật gặp phải 1 chút sai sót thì có thể gây hậu quả nghiêm trọng đó là bại liệt. Vì vậy trước khi quyết định phẫu thuật bạn cần có sự tư vấn của bác sĩ để đưa ra quyết định đúng đắn nhất.
5. Phương pháp trị liệu thần kinh cột sống (Chiropractic)
Phương pháp trị trị liệu thần kinh cột sống mang lại nhiều hiệu quả mà không cần dùng đến thuốc hay phẫu thuật. Các bác sĩ chuyên khoa sẽ dùng tay để tạo 1 lực thích hợp tác dụng nắn chỉnh lên những đốt sống bị sai lệch vị trí, đưa chúng về trạng thái ban đầu và đồng thời giải phóng các chèn ép dây thần kinh, thúc đẩy cơ thể chữa lành một cách tự nhiên.

– Vật lý trị liệu chủ động: Bệnh nhân sẽ sử dụng các bài tập vận động cơ thể với các bài tập kéo giãn cơ, cải thiện cơ bắp,… Các bài tập này giúp lưu thông máu một cách hiệu quả, tăng sự dẻo dai cho cơ bắp và cho xương khớp có độ linh hoạt.
