1. Thế nào gọi là đau thần kinh tọa?
Dây thần kinh tọa (hay còn gọi là dây thần kinh hông to) là dây thần kinh kéo dài từ lưng dưới qua hông, mông và xuống chân rồi đến ngón chân cái hoặc ngón chân út. Chức năng chính của dây thần kinh tọa là chi phối vận động và cảm giác của chi dưới.
Đau thần kinh tọa – Căn bệnh không thể xem thườngĐau thần kinh tọa là cơn đau tỏa ra dọc theo đường đi của dây thần kinh tọa. Nó thường xảy ra khi người bệnh bị thoát vị đĩa đệm ở cột sống thắt lưng dưới. Các đốt sống (xương tạo nên cột sống) được tách ra và được đệm bởi các đĩa tròn và các mô liên kết. Khi một đĩa bị mòn do chấn thương hoặc là sau nhiều năm sử dụng quá mức thì trung tâm của nó có thể bắt đầu đẩy ra khỏi vòng ngoài. Cơn đau bắt đầu từ cột sống thắt lưng, lan xuống phần hông, đùi, cẳng chân, mắt cá ngoài rồi đến tận các ngón chân. Điều này gây ra viêm, đau và thường bị tê ở chân.
2. Triệu chứng đau thần kinh tọa
Dấu hiệu đặc biệt nhất của đau thần kinh tọa là cơn đau tỏa ra từ thắt lưng lan xuống mông, mặt sau đùi hoặc mặt bên của chân sau đó lan xuống ngón chân cái hoặc có thể là ngón chân út theo đường đi của dây thần kinh tọa.. Cơn đau có thể rất khác nhau, từ đau nhẹ đến đau nhói, hoặc đau dữ dội. Đôi khi người bệnh có thể cảm thấy như một cú điện giật. Hoặc có thể tồi tệ hơn khi ho hoặc hắt hơi, hoặc ngồi lâu cũng có thể làm cho triệu chứng của bệnh càng trở nên nặng hơn.
Một số trường hợp khác có thể bị tê, ngứa ra hoặc yếu cơ ở chân và bàn chân. Hoặc có thể bị đau một phần ở chân và tê ở một số bộ phận khác của cơ thể.
Đau thần kinh tọa nhẹ thường sẽ biến mất theo thời gian. Các biến chứng nguy hiểm của đau thần kinh tọa
Đau thần kinh tọa có thể nhận biết sớm qua các dấu hiệu bất thường trên cơ thể, nhất là các cơn đau. Tuy nhiên người bệnh thường chủ quan nên chậm trễ trong việc thăm khám và điều trị. Từ đó dẫn đến các biến chứng vô cùng nguy hiểm sau đây:
– Đau đớn, khó chịu: Cơn đau sẽ xuất hiện từ nhẹ đến nặng với tần suất ngày càng lớn, khiến người bệnh không thể vận động, làm việc bình thường.
– Suy giảm ham muốn: Người bệnh bị đau thần kinh luôn sống trong tâm trạng mệt, không còn hứng thú với đời sống “chăn gối” do đó gây rạn nứt với bạn tình, làm ảnh hưởng đến tình cảm và hôn nhân
– Teo cơ chân, cứng khớp: Đau thần kinh tọa kéo theo tình trạng đau cột sống, chèn ép thần kinh, dẫn đến vận động khó, để lâu gây teo cơ chân, không đủ khả năng di chuyển do mất cảm giác…
– Rối loạn tiểu tiện: Bí tiểu, tiểu không tự chủ, hệ của của việc dây thần kinh tọa bị chèn ép, dẫn đến tình trạng luôn phải canh me trước nhà vệ sinh thường xuyên.
– Biến dạng cột sống: Cột sống bị cong vẹo, các cơ quanh cột sống cứng dần, phần xương chậu bị lệch về một bên…nguy cơ liệt cao khi thần kinh tọa bị tổn thương, chèn ép mà không được xử lý kịp thời
– Liệt 2 chi dưới : Người bệnh để tình trạng này kéo dài dẫn đến nguy cơ bị liệt, đánh mất khả năng vận động 2 chi dưới.
5. Biện pháp phòng ngừa đau thần kinh tọa
Việc thực hiện các biện pháp giúp phòng tránh bệnh thần kinh tọa không thể giúp loại trừ 100% khả năng mắc bệnh, nhưng có thể làm giảm nguy cơ mắc bệnh. Thường xuyên áp dụng các biện pháp sau sẽ giúp giảm khả năng bị đau thần kinh tọa:
– Tập thể dục, thể thao đều đặn mỗi ngày để giữ cho lưng có thể hoạt động tốt, đặc biệt là các cơ cốt lõi như cơ bụng, cơ lưng dưới là các cơ rất cần thiết cho tư thế và những sự liên kết thích hợp.
– Chế độ ăn uống lành mạnh để tránh tăng cân và ngăn ngừa bệnh đái tháo đường.
– Điều chỉnh tư thế ngồi phù hợp: Vị trí ngồi nên được chọn có thiết bị hỗ trợ lưng dưới tốt, có tay vịn và chân đế xoay. Có thể đặt một chiếc gối hoặc một chiếc khăn cuộn phía sau lưng để duy trì đường cong bình thường của lưng. Giữ độ cao của đầu gối và hông phù hợp với tư thế ngồi.
– Hạn chế mang vác vật nặng quá sức, giữ lưng thẳng, tránh gập lưng khi nhấc vật nặng.
6. Phương pháp điều trị đau thần kinh tọa
Đau thần kinh tọa rất nguy hiểm nhưng có thể điều trị khỏi hoàn toàn, bằng cách điều trị đúng phác đồ. Chính vì vậy người bệnh hãy đến gặp chuyên gia chuyên khoa để được thăm khám và điều trị hiệu quả.
6.1. Điều trị nội khoa – đông tây y kết hợp
Thuốc được sử dụng để điều trị bệnh đau thần kinh tọa ở mức độ nhẹ. Tùy vào từng người bệnh mà các chuyên gia sẽ có các đơn thuốc khác nhau phù hợp với sức khỏe và cơ địa của từng người.
